FIELDS OF EXPERIENCE
(Also see my Project history for a list of recent projects including outsourcer feedback.) * Business: Investment newsletters, case studies, management training courses, tax certificates etc. I have an educational background in finance and economics as well as experience from daytrading. * IT/electronics: I have participated in several big software help documentation projects, including the upcoming Microsoft Windows Vista. Also experience in user manuals for consumer electronic equipment, including computers and accessories, cell phones, alarm systems and hi-fi. * Marketing: Press releases/PR material in the fields above, but also for other products provided that the texts are not too technical. I am NOT dabbling in medicine and automotive.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
* Terminology: Each project is reviewed carefully prior to acceptance to ensure that it fits with my background. I also know how to look for terms effectively on Internet - please see my answers to term questions for examples. * Consistency: Trados 7.5 is used whenever consistency is important. * Language quality: All texts are printed out and proofread on paper. In larger project I use an external proofreader. * Deadline: I have a reserve computer in case of hardware crash and also run online backup every night. This way I never risk losing any more than one day's work. Deadlines are treated very seriously and I never bite off more than I can chew.
